Emergency Closings

Emergency Closings

School closing information will be relayed via the robocall system. Please make sure your phone numbers are always updated with your child's front office.

E-Learning

Effective immediately, District 152 will implement E-Learning days, which allows student instruction to be received electronically when students are not present in school due to emergency school closings. Procedures for these days will differ based on whether or not a student has access to a computer and the Internet outside of school. Every student must adhere to the following procedures and expectations in order to receive credit for their academic work and to avoid a recorded school absence on e-learning days.

E-Learning Procedures & Expectations

If a student has reliable access to a computer/smartphone and the Internet outside of school:

All students who have access to a computer/smartphone and the Internet must access Study Island through the District’s Single Sign-On (SSO) portal, named “Clever” as follows:

  1. Go to Clever > click “Login with Google” > enter District Google login info > click on the “Study Island” icon.

  2. Click on “My Classes” > find your teacher(s) > click “View Assignments”

  3. Students will be required to complete all assigned lessons on the e-learning day in order to receive academic credit and attendance.

If a student does not have reliable access to a computer/smartphone and the Internet outside of school:

The following are the expectations for students without access to a computer/smartphone and the Internet in the event of an e-learning day:

  1. If the teacher distributed non-electronic assignments to be completed on the anticipated e-learning day, students are required to complete all assignments during the e-learning day. This work is to be submitted on the day students return to school to receive credit and attendance for the e-learning day

  2. If the emergency school closing was not anticipated and the teacher was unable to distribute non-electronic assignments to be completed during the e-learning day, students will receive the non-electronic assignments on the day they return to school. This work must be submitted by the following school day to receive credit and attendance for the e-learning day.
