Our Mission
The mission of Harvey Public Schools District 152, as it strives toward excellence, is to develop the students' abilities which are necessary to fulfill their roles as responsible citizens of a democratic society in a changing world. The District will provide the students with an enriched and integrated curriculum with instructional experiences which promote inquiry, risk-taking, skillful decision-making, effective communication, multicultural appreciation and the joy of learning.
Our Beliefs
We believe that education is a lifelong process and that:
- Every student is entitled to a quality education which is achieved through exemplary educational opportunities
- Every child will learn and be successful
- High expectations and hard work are essential to high performance
- Education must advance the dignity, self-esteem, growth and integrity of all individuals
- Education is the shared responsibility of the student, home, school, and community
- All persons and activities in the school district support the teaching and learning process
- There is power in the integrated approach to teaching and learning
- Shared decision-making is valuable
- Educational needs determine the allocation of district resources
- It is important to establish and attain measurable goals and objectives
