Employment Processes for LICENSED Personnel

Teacher, Administrator, Professional/Technical and Substitute Positions

New Applicants

Our online application will take you through the necessary steps to complete an online application for Harvey Pubic Schools.

To be considered for a position, you must:

• Complete the online application
• Upload the following items during the application process:
  • Your resume
  • A copy of your license
  • Three letters of reference

If you do not have a current Illinois Certificate or license, please provide a statement that informs us of your progress toward licensure.

If you have a current or valid out-of-state teaching license you qualify for a provisional license. Please contact the Illinois Department of Education (ISBE) for more information on licensure procedures.

If you have submitted an application within the last 12 months, DO NOT submit an additional application. Instead, please revise your current application in the online system. If you have forgotten your pass codes please contact our Human Resources Department at (708) 333-0300 ext. 19.

Interview

Interviews are generally held at the school or building where the vacancy exists. If you are selected for an interview, you may need to bring copies of your transcripts and 3 current letters of recommendation with you and turn them in to your interviewer(s). Following the interview, the school administrator contacts Human Resources and indicates level of interest in your candidacy.

Potential Offer

If the school administrator wishes to hire you, Human Resources will contact you to discuss the position, salary, benefits, etc. References are checked before a recommendation is sent to Human Resources. References are completed via the telephone with persons that may or may not be supplied by the applicant.

Human Resources will keep your application on file for another 12 months and may contact you again if a similar position becomes available.

You're Hired!

If you accept an offer of employment, you will be scheduled for an appointment to fill out the required paperwork before you can begin employment. Paperwork includes a W-4 Form, an I-9 Form, TRS enrollment form, fingerprinting and benefits information.
