Dear Parents/Guardians,

February and March are busy months around Whittier as we prepare our 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students for one of the most important tests of their elementary school career, the ISAT test. This test will be given the week of March 6th. It is crucial that our students understand that they must do their best on this test. They must also realize that regardless of ability, their success will depend upon the attitude they bring to school. Without a positive approach, no tools will work for them.

The focus of the future should be on service and excellence. We are pleased, as employees of the Harvey Public Schools District #152 to have the opportunity to serve and work with your students. The importance of teaching and learning was well stated by a late President of the United States:

“From the desk where I sit, the answer to all the world problems is found in a single word. That word is education.”

Those words support the challenge and commitment we educators have for quality education at Whittier Elementary School.
