Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
Welcome to a new school year at Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School. I am honored to return to Brooks Middle School and to District 152. It is always exciting for students and adults alike to start a new school year because it gives everyone a chance to start over and face new challenges. The administration, faculty, and staff will continue to work hard to provide each student with the best education possible. It is extremely exciting to begin the 2017-2018 school year and build on our past successes. As we begin our second semester, it is important that we keep the lines of communication open regarding what is happening at Brooks Middle School, so I encourage all parents to notify the school secretaries if there is a phone number change. The school and District use an automated phone system to notify parents/guardians of important events and news about the school and District, and without the valid contact information we are unable to keep you abreast with important updates.
We are proud of our faculty and staff for their tireless efforts in and out of the classroom and for the support we have received from parents. It is with great optimism we begin the new school year, but as always, we need the support from the home in order to achieve greatness. If your student needs additional support, or if you have a concern, please do not hesitate to contact his/her teacher(s). It is our mission to support your child in whatever way we can. Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School is fortunate to have many resources that support students and their families. Working together makes a difference in the lives of our students.
