This May, Virginia Rodriguez graduated from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Illinois Chicago. Ms. Rodriguez attended Whittier Elementary, Brooks Middle School, and was in the Thornton Township High School Class of 2020. Congratulations, Ms. Rodriguez! Tigers and Bears unite! Last week, Bryant Elementary School students enjoyed the visit from the mobile clinic sponsored by Advocate Health Care System and the Chicago Bears franchise! This initiative was created to show students how important physical fitness is in their daily routine by offering skills for 60 minutes a day of physical activity.

Last week, our Board of Education honored two individuals from Maya Angelou School! Board President Ms. Maya Gardner presented capes to basketball and track coach Mr. Claude Davis and super volunteer Zyporah Hale to symbolize their "Super Success" for students. Coach Davis has led the Eagles Girls and Boys Basketball team to back-to-back championships. Thank you both for all that you do for our community!
