Whittier Schools PreK parents are preparing for the big emotions that come with our youngest students. PreK parent coordinators Ms. Brown and Mrs. Boyce talk with parents to help them understand how to support their toddlers during tantrums and other emotional moments. Parents also enjoyed a light breakfast and a shopping spree. Be sure to check your school's calendar for upcoming educational and informative sessions with your PreK team.

Happy Feet at Whittier School! Last week, Samaritan's Feet sponsored a student shoe giveaway at Whittier School. PreK to 5th-grade students were all smiles after receiving stylish footwear, socks, and gift bags. Volunteer shoe fitters gave an extra hand to students trying to find the right fit. Thank you to Whittier's Social Worker, Mrs. Norfleet, and Principal Manuel for organizing this schoolwide event for their students.

While students head home early, our teachers dive into professional learning, exploring new strategies and technologies to boost student success. Behind the scenes, our coordinators play a vital role. Last week, Mrs. Simcha Dixon (Math) and Ms. Christina Montgomery (Literacy) partnered with teachers to review i-Ready scores, set growth goals, and design strategies for achievement.

So next time there’s an early dismissal, remember: while students are away, teachers are working hard to pave the way for success.
